Kiln fired glass is semi-transparent, very suitable for filtering light or partially screening open areas. The process of firing at high temperature fixes the enamels and tends to strengthen the glass.

Vivienne will undertake commissions in conjunction with Architects and Designers, enabling you to have a light well or window with privacy as part of an istallation in a new or altered building.

"SHADOWS OF OUR TIMES": These Kiln Fired Glass windows, panels and screens are Vivienne Bashfords interpretation of the theme " From The Mountains To The Shore." This work was created as a part of the decoration of the Christchurch Cathedral Visitors Centre for the 1997 "Garden City Festival of Flowers."

The window has been leaded into three panels and is suitable for interior or exterior use. This work focuses on the life source of the Garden City and Cathedral via the strengths and weaknesses of the wider community.
