The High Street Project presents the first show in our new series of exhibitions from emerging and experimental artists. The 'Recycle' series consists of eleven three-week exhibitions and asks artists to experiment with the idea of originality, interweaving the past with the present, recycling culture for their specific means. The cultural achievements of an earlier generation are no longer material for veneration and detached critical questioning, but for playful use and variation.

'Recycle' incorporates artists based in Christchurch, Dunedin, Wellington, Auckland and Australia working variously across the mediums of Painting, Installation, Sound, and Sculpture.
